Hello Friend

Oh how I wish I had some good lighting!! This nice blue card is all stamping. I used a few different sets for this one. One image from Kim Hughes' Natures Silhouettes (buy Cornish Heritage Farms). One image from Papertrey Ink's Green Thumb. One image from PTI's Around and About Sentiments and the sentiment image from PTI's Birds of a Feather.  A definite hodgepodge.

Thanks for visiting!

Birthday Boy

I originally picked up this stamp for Ronin from the 1$ bin at Michael's for his stocking this Christmas. He loves to sit and stamp with me so I picked up a few kid sized stamps. I thought he was so cute, I wanted to play too. I also used my scalloped die and Cuttlebug. I'm lovin' that thing!

Today is Cache's 2nd Birthday so I thought this card was in order! Happy Birthday Big Boy!

Enjoy Your DAY!

Hello from Milwaukee! I am here freezing and making cards and basically loving every moment of it. This card is all paper. Not ONE stamp on it! Can you believe it? And, bear with me, I have been taking photos in the windowsill and they are less than desirable, but of course, it could be worse.
These papers are from the Hello Sunshine line by Cosmo Cricket. The 8x8 paper pack comes with prints, strips, sentiments and journaling cards.  Oh how do I love it? Let me count the ways! And they have some fabulous new lines coming out for 2009 I can't wait to get my hands on.

I took the "enjoy" card and cut the edges to shape it like a tag, added some ribbon and Voila!
Thanks for visiting and please, Enjoy your day!
See you next time!

New Digs!

I am SO very excited! I recently won a free blog design from Nancy who is not only a graphic designer, but a card designer as well! Check out her blog to see some of her work. She is also SO wonderful that she is taking payment as a donation to a number of hospitals and clinics that work with kids. So if you are in the market, please check out her blog. Thank you to Taylor VanBruggen over at Taylored Expressions.  who had this wonderful giveaway.  I cannot be more excited! Stay tuned to see the new digs...

I am in Milwaukee right now and it is FREEZING here. No fun being outside, but I have already read two books and plan on busting out some new stamps sets to share so see you soon!

Take-Off Tuesday #13

I love these colors together!! Very mellow, modern and yet classic too.
Here is my take:
I was really loving this card until I realized my Aqua Mist stamp pad has some pink in it and it bled through. But it was inspiring to do nonetheless so I love it. I tried stamping with silver ink on the ribbon and it just didn't take so I put glitter on it, which also didn't take so then I wrote over it with a Deco Silver Pen and it got a bit gummed up. I will remember that for next time.

Have an inspiring week!

XOXO

Starting to make more Valentine's Day Cards! You can never have too many cards to tell people you love them.

This card however, was an interesting experiment. I tried staples instead of stitching on the ribbon. Partly because I wanted to add more X's into my heart card but also because I was too lazy to dig out the sewing machine. I guess this is what happens when you are lazy! It didn't turn out too bad, although this card is not my fav. I do like the color combo though. A little funky and fun.

Thanks for visiting. XOXO

Simply Irresistable

Another quick card and not ONE stamp was used. Scandalous! I used a rub-on on acetate to make it see-through. This baby has so much glitter. It is everywhere! Even Patrick found some on his face a week after I actually made the card.
Have a great day.

Get Well Wishes

A simple card today. Have I told you how much I love this new color Ocean Tides? If not, consider yourself told. It's Grrrreat! I also sponged the scalloped circle while it was still in the die to create the layer of color. It makes it look like another paper layer, but without the bulk.
Thanks for stopping by!

Take-Off Tuesday #12

I was inspired by these colors because they are so mellow, but I also really  love the pattern too. This is also from the Crate and Barrel catalog. I interpreted these colors as Old Olive, Close To Cocoa and So Saffron. I don't actually own So Saffron so I blended two VersaMagic Inks together. I don't have the names, but they were a yellow and a brown together. I used a dauber to apply them to the stamp.

Here is my take this week:
I haven't used these stamps in a while, so it was good to get them out. They are from Inque Boutique. I bought them at Purple Turtle Stamps online, but the link is no longer working. So sorry if you wanted to check them out.
Have an inspiring week!

My Time Sketch 20

Since Patrick is gone I have had a lot of time to craft and did a few sketch challenges this week. This one is from Lauren at My Time, My Creations, My Stampendous.
Here is my take. I pulled out some old SU! sets that have not seen sun in awhile. I remember why I don't use them much... I can't line anything up! Sheesh!!
Nonetheless, I did enjoy myself and got to use some paper scraps up too which is always liberating. This was a fun sketch. Thanks Lauren!

Todays Card. I love this new color from Papertrey Ink.  Ocean Tides. It's even more beautiful in real life and goes so well with silver. Ahhh.
I embossed the background images with my favorite embossing powder. I even embossed the brad that wasn't quite silver enough. Just coat with versa mark, dip in powder and heat. Easy.

KWerner Color Inspiration #38

I actually got to participate this round, but have yet to link it since I am not as computer savvy as I thought. I hope to get it linked tomorrow. So here is my card using this weeks colors:
I made a flap card. Untie the ribbon to open up the card.
This is actually an idea I got from Cammie's blog, but I decided to do the flap all the way around to add some interest and detail to the back of my card. (which I have not shown) I totally did NOT mean to score the lines just like she did. It just came to me and I did it and then realized that she had it on her card. oops. so sorry about that. I did not mean to steal! I sanded across the front to help the score lines pop a bit.

Thanks for stopping by and sit down to make your own flap card right now! It's FUN!
see you next time.

Take-Off Tuesday #11

This week's Take-Off is from the Crate and Barrel magazine. I LOVE this color combo. It is fun, fresh and really pops.

And it was as fun to play with as it was to look at! Here is my take: I used PTI Pure Poppy and Raspberry Fizz and SU! Tangerine Tango. Boo-Ya! It makes me want to eat fruit!
Ooooh I could eat it up. I also really love this set Ahoy Matey from Kim Hughes for Cornish Heritage Farms. In fact I love all of Kim Hughes stuff, but I know I have told you that before.
I embossed the heart five times to get it nice and thick and shiny. I love this card. Really. I have my eyes open for all color combos fresh and funky now. It has brought change into my life.

Check in again to see what next week brings. AND since I now have my camera back home where it belongs, I will be posting more regularly so check back often!
You each are a treasure!

Welcome 2009!

Finally my camera is home from it's two week stint in Vegas (oh, and so is my husband!) and I can sit down and get some cards up on this old blog 'o mine.  Here is a card I made on New Year's Eve as we watched the ball drop. I guess you can see the inspiration! I got my very own Cuttlebug this Christmas (thanks Santa!) and have been playing quite a bit. It's the best thing my scrap stash has seen as I am finally getting through some of this paper.

And finally I get to share my New Year's thoughts with you all. Here is to all acquaintances old and new. Here is to being a better person, a better nation, a better world. Here is to all the wonderful things 2009 holds for each of us. The trials and joys, the inspiration and growth. Happy New Year to you all!
loves~

Be Mine

A little 4 x 4 card for the coming holiday. Yes, I am aware it is still a month away, but with the Heart Prints stamp set, how could I possibly sit by and not post a ton of Valentine's Cards? I love this one. The little heart in the set helped finish off the ribbon with some home made tassels. Here's a little close up.
Another great thing about this set is that Papertrey Ink sells heart punches to coordinate. It makes making heart cards easy-peasy. Also, just so you know I picked up this color combo (the PTI, Plum Pudding and Raspberry fizz from Dawn's blog at My Favorite Things.  She has the best combos you could think of. Thanks Dawn!!

Take-Off Tuesday #10

Here is this weeks Take-Off brought to you by the Garnet Hill magazine. I love the things in this mag, but have yet to buy anything due to the price tags. But this little number jumped out at me from the pages;

I love the bold colors and of course the pattern. I just received a new stamp set from my mother for Christmas. Heart Prints by Papertrey Ink. I thought the small heart would be a perfect way to translate this card. Unfortunately the things I love about this pic went straight into the card and therefor maybe this week should be called Rip-Off Tuesday.
I love the colors together. Who woulda thunk it?! I like this little number. Easy and cute. Just as it should be.
Thanks for stopping in today. See you next time!

What's a paper crafting blogger to do? I guess you will have to wait for pictures of things I am working on. But don't worry, I will be back next tuesday so check back!
happy new year to all of you!
